Bossard got her start working in the commercial seafood sector in 1999. In that year, she worked as a fisherman on Murat Aritan's halibut 65 feet vessel, transformed into a fish tender. Bossard and Aritan are married now and have come together in claiming their share of their business. Both of them are favor of conserving resources and maximising the profits. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood which was founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007, by a now-mother of two children, Bella aged 3 and Andre one year old. The name Otolith is a loving reminder of Bossard's intimate experience with fish biology as well as her husband's extensive connections in the business of fishing.
